Welcoming Our Patients Back!
Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. As of May 1st 2020, Oregon dental offices have been allowed to provide elective and preventative procedures.
Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
You will notice some increased safety measures during your next visit to our office. For example:
- We will communicate with you to ask some screening questions before your appointment.
- We will take the temperature of every patient and staff member as they enter the office.
- We have hand sanitizer available for every patient.
- You will notice there are no longer any books, magazines, newspapers, or children’s toys in our reception area since these items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- We will do our best to allow for greater time between appointments to reduce the number of people in the office.
- We ask that patients/guardians limit extra companions to only essential people in order to reduce the number of people in the reception area at any one time.
In addition to these safety measures, there are simple things the CDC recommends you do to help keep yourself and others healthy while visiting our location:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing, using the restroom, or touching your face.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Stay home when you are sick. We are happy during this time to reschedule your appointment if you aren’t feeling well, without a late cancellation fee.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Utilize hand sanitizer which is readily available as an alternative, if handwashing isn’t possible.
- While we do not require you to wear a face mask while in our office, you are welcome to. We have facemasks available upon your request for use while you are in our office.
- Please try to maintain 6 feet of physical space between yourself and other patients when in our office. We are happy to call or text you if you’d prefer to wait in your car for your appointment.
